Stephen Tallentire

Paralegal

Stephen is a Paralegal in the Residential Conveyancing Department, with a particular focus on helping first-time buyers take their first steps onto the property ladder. Working closely with Jane Ball, Stephen supports a wide range of residential sales and purchases, and often draws upon his broad experience to assist others in the department. His practical and approachable nature makes him a valued member of the team.

Stephen took an unconventional but rewarding route into the legal profession, beginning his career straight after A-levels through an apprenticeship. From starting as a receptionist to working his way up to the role of Conveyancer, he has supported numerous departments along the way, building a solid foundation in law. He has since found his niche in residential conveyancing – an area he thoroughly enjoys and where he feels he can make the greatest impact.

Clients appreciate Stephen’s transparent and jargon-free approach to conveyancing. From instruction through to completion, he ensures clients understand each stage of the process and encourages open communication throughout. He’s known for copying estate agents and blind-copying clients into correspondence to keep everyone in the loop, which helps to reduce stress and avoid unnecessary delays. His attention to detail and commitment to client service are at the heart of his work.

While complex transactions can be challenging, Stephen finds great satisfaction in navigating them to a successful conclusion. One of the highlights of his career was assisting in the sale of a 300-acre plot to developers—an intricate matter that required patience, precision, and teamwork. He also looks back fondly on his previous role as a self-sufficient Conveyancer, where he was able to build strong relationships with his clients and take real pride in the outcomes achieved.

Outside of the office, Stephen is a devoted cinema enthusiast and tries to visit the cinema at least once a week—sometimes even squeezing in multiple films in one day, despite vowing never to do it again. A fan of road trips, he enjoys taking to the open road in the summer and dreams of one day taking a month off to drive across Europe. His friendly nature, dedication to his clients, and genuine passion for his work make him a reassuring and reliable presence throughout the conveyancing process.

I highly recommend this employment service. Despite the pressure of a very tight deadline, Sumera Ehsan clearly explained the entire process and committed to the timeline while still making sure every detail was thoroughly covered. I was genuinely impressed by her professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail. From start to finish, I felt confident and in very good hands.

I contacted Askews for advice on employment law, specifically voluntary redundancy. From first contact to completion of the relevant paperwork took just four working days. Lianne Payne was the epitome of professionalism throughout. If I am ever offered a similar scheme again, I know exactly who to turn to.
