Karen Staton
Karen joined Askews in 2019 to continue working alongside Karen Reardan with whom she had worked as a Legal Assistant for 17 years at Penmans.
Karen has assisted in all areas of family law including but not limited to; divorce, dissolution of civil partnership, financial settlement, child contact arrangements, Injunctions and Change of Name Deeds. Karen has experience in both privately funded cases and cases funded under the Legal Aid system. Karen’s specialist area is preparing and maintaining the client billing system as figure work is something she thoroughly enjoys. Karen also deals with the final costing of legally aided matters, having been trained in this area and having seen the transition from the old paper billing system to the current online system.
Outside of work, Karen’s interest is theatre, for which she has a total passion. In her youth Karen trained to be an actress at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She didn’t pursue a career in acting as having a family became more important to her, however, now that the family are all grown, Karen has reignited her love for theatre and established her own little theatre company here in Coventry.
