Balbir Dahil

Balbir is a Solicitor/Consultant in our Criminal Defence Department and specialises in all aspects of criminal defence work.

Balbir was called to the Bar in 1992 and in September of that year, was employed by Mian & Company Solicitors, specialising in Criminal Law. In 1995, Balbir was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors and then spent the next 11 years at Mian & Company Solicitors, as one of their Criminal Advocates. Mian & Company Solicitors, at that stage, were one of the biggest criminal defence practices in the West Midlands area. In 2003, Balbir became a Partner at Heer Manak Solicitors heading the Criminal Department until the Firm closed in 2013. Since the beginning of 2014, Balbir has been a Consultant at Askews Legal LLP.

In more than two decades of specialising in criminal defence work, Balbir has defended in cases from the relatively minor to the most serious and complex. Balbir is highly regarded, not only amongst his peers, but also amongst the Legal Advisors and Magistrates from the local Court.

The Criminal Department in which Balbir works is dedicated to providing a high level of service. The Criminal Department puts, above everything else, the clients’ interests in obtaining the best result possible in the circumstances.

Balbir speaks fluent Punjabi and is involved in many sporting projects within the community.

Away from work, Balbir keeps fit by running, doing calisthenics and enjoying live music, as well as regular visits to the cinema.
