Jessica Fletcher-Hall

Family and Childcare Solicitor

Jessica is a Solicitor in the Care Department at Askews Legal and specialises in public law matters, assisting parents and other family members where there is Local Authority involvement with their family due to safeguarding concerns.  This includes attending Child Protection Conferences with clients, representing clients at Pre-Proceedings Meetings and representing clients during Court Proceedings, including where the Local Authority are seeking to remove child(ren) from their parent/guardian’s care.

Jessica also has experience in assisting clients with regards to private children disputes – including applications for a Child Arrangements Order, Prohibited Steps Order and Specific Issue Order – and in relation to domestic abuse matters and in particular obtaining protective injunctions for clients.

Jessica is very passionate about the work that she undertakes and is fully committed to her clients and helping them through what is an incredibly challenging time in their lives.

After graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 2011 with a First Class Honours Law Degree, Jessica went on to complete the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at the College of Law, Birmingham. Jessica then began her legal career working as a Legal Secretary at a local Firm in 2013 before commencing her Training Contact there and subsequently qualifying as a Solicitor in May 2018.  Save for 6 months spent in a Conveyancing Department during her Training Contract, Jessica has spent the entirety of her legal career working within the area of family law and primarily within the area of Care Proceedings.

In 2019, Jessica was a finalist for the Coventry and Warwickshire Young Professional of the Year – Legal Sector. Jessica has also been on the committee for the Warwickshire Junior Lawyers Division (WJLD) and was even elected President of the WJLD in 2018.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys attending the theatre, reading anything from moderns to classics (but particularly Harry Potter) and spending time with her family, friends and two dogs.

We felt Askews ( Pavinder) had poor communication with us. If it wasn't for us communicating with our buyers and sellers we wouldn't have known what stage we were all at regarding our move. Constant asking what stage we were at and waiting for responses from them. It would have been less stressful if they updated us more.Their Portual was useless, especially when they hadn't checked to see if the right forms had gone on. Very frustrating sending the same form again and again. Took a few weeks for them to realiseWe thank Simran for her hard work near the completion of our sale and purchase and Shortland Horne ( Shelley) who took on the role off chasing things up between solicitors.Stressful experience
