We are looking for a talented Care Solicitor to join a busy and expanding Care department within our well-established, Coventry based, law firm. - The successful candidate will be experienced in handling their own caseload of pre-proceedings and public law children matters
- The firm is looking a Solicitor with a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ PQE
- Be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and technical expertise in dealing with a mixed caseload
- Being able to apply for and manage Legal Aid public funding for clients, including POA claims for disbursements and interim costs payments
- Experience of using a case management system, Legal Aid Agency CCMS online and HMCTS FPL Portal
- A positive approach to client care
- Advocacy experience in case management and contested public law hearings
- Experience of taking client instructions, providing targeted legal advice and of drafting applications and statements
- Experience of briefing and working with Counsel as appropriate
- Able to work effectively in a team as well as using your own initiative to work independently
