Employment Solicitor

Job Purpose:

Would you like to work with a forward thinking, ambitious, technologically advanced, full-service law firm?We are looking for an Employment Solicitor (ideally 4-5 days per week) to join it’s experienced, Partner-led, Legal 500 Employment Team.  The successful candidate will have 3-5 years PQE experience exclusively in employment law, gained in private practice.

The candidate will be required to cover a broad spectrum of contentious and non-contentious work for both Claimants and Respondents, including:
  • Drafting contracts of employment, director’s service agreements, policies and procedures and staff handbooks;
  • Providing email and telephone advice to support Companies with their day to day employment law needs;
  • Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters;
  • Advising and assisting with redundancies;
  • Advising and assisting with TUPE transfers;
  • Preparing and advising on settlement agreements;
  • Preparing merits assessments;
  • Assisting and running claims in the Employment Tribunal
  • We are keen to speak with candidates who:
    • Have strong technical skills, legal knowledge and excellent attention to detail;
    • Have exceptional communication skills, both with clients and others in their team;
    • Are organised, have good time management and commercial awareness and who are persistent and committed to completing tasks, achieving objectives and winning work for this fast growing department;
    • Are committed to improving service delivery and supporting the firm’s expansion plans;
    • Can network confidently, and build and maintain relationships with clients as well as other fee earners to successfully cross-sell;
    • Can work effectively as part of a team, in an often fast-paced environment;
    • Are ambitious, self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision;
    • Are keen to learn and can keep up-to-date with this volatile practice area.
