Family Law

Guiding you through your change in circumstance

Families are complicated and sometimes, no matter how hard people try, things do not work out and relationships break down.

Our Family Law Solicitors will be by your side during every stage of your family dispute.

We put ourselves in your shoes and take the time to discover what you need to happen to move on with your life in a positive way.  In all our years of practising family law, not one of our clients ever expected to get divorced, have to make arrangements for their children, become a victim of domestic violence, or fight for a fair divorce financial settlement.  We appreciate that you have been put in an unexpected situation. By instructing one of our expert solicitors, you can be confident that we will take care of matters for you and work tirelessly to protect the interests of you and your children.

We are a diverse, multi-lingual law firm with experienced solicitors that use best-in-class technology to provide clients with streamlined, modern, and highly effective family law advice and representation.  Our years of experience in family law from our city centre offices in Coventry means we have a robust reputation for excellence with the UK’s best Barristers and King’s Counsel, Forensic Accountants, Independent Financial Advisers, Surveyors, Actuaries, and Counsellors who can bring additional support to our Family Law Department when required. Our clients also benefit from our ability to instruct the country’s most respected expert witnesses.

Our family law ethos

Our Family Solicitors are members of Resolution, an organisation of family law professionals who believe a non-confrontational approach to family law disputes produces better long term outcomes.  Our team abides by Resolution’s Code of Practice and work to resolve disputes through round table negotiation and mediation.  However, if Court proceedings prove inevitable, you can trust that we will fight tenaciously to get the best possible results for you and your children. Our highly intelligent and compassionate Solicitors have received training on dealing with the emotional impact of family law cases.  If you are finding things difficult, we can refer you to support agencies and counsellors that can help you.  Our team, which include trained Mediators and members of the Law Society’s Children’s Law Panel, are here to help you when life takes an unexpected turn and get the results you need to move on to a positive future.

Family Law FAQs

Below are some of the most common questions our solicitors receive from clients about our family law practice.

How long will my divorce take?

Under the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 there is a minimum period of 20 weeks between the start of the divorce process and the granting of a Conditional Order. Therefore, it is likely your divorce will take a minimum of six months to complete. This is, however, influenced by whether you and your spouse can work out a financial settlement and arrangements for your children amicably between yourselves. In cases of high net worth divorce, or where there are issues around domestic abuse and/or disputes related to children, the divorce process can last much longer.  Our Family Law Solicitors are committed to resolving your divorce as quickly as possible but never at the expense of achieving the outcome you want.
