James is Head of Care and qualified as a Solicitor in 2012. He specialises in family court cases involving children, particularly care proceedings. He frequently undertakes his own advocacy in the family court to represent parents, other family members and even the interests of children themselves in cases when a Local Authority is trying to involve itself in the family’s life. This includes cases where a Local Authority seeks to remove children from their parents or carers, child arrangement order applications for residence and contact, special guardianship applications and adoption proceedings. He also regularly undertakes work for CAFCASS Children’s Guardians. His aim is to work efficiently for his clients to represent them fully and to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
Outside of work, James has a keen interest in travelling, hiking and cycling. He is an active member of several charitable organisations and frequently uses his spare time to support these causes.

My girlfriend and I are first time buyers so we’ve never had to deal with solicitors before, so when people tell us that buying a house is stressful and dealing with solicitors can be a pain, this obviously worried me about the process.
