How does our Notary Public service work?

What are the fees for Notary Public services?

I do not live in Coventry. Can you still represent me?

Please be aware that your documents, in addition to notarising, may need to be legalised by the UK Consulate and/or the Consulate of the receiving jurisdiction. You will need to enquire with the receiving jurisdiction and or the foreign Consulate whether legalisation is required.

We can arrange UK legalisation of documents from the FCO to obtain an Apostille on your notarised document, via an agent, or we can refer you to a local agent should you prefer to do this yourself.

Some documents require translations, and additional disbursement costs will also apply.

Statement from Kuljeet Sandhu:

If you are dissatisfied with the service you have received, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will, of course, endeavour to satisfactorily resolve any issue you may have. If I am unable to resolve the matter, you may then complain to the Notaries Society of which I am a member, which has a Complaints Procedure approved by the Faculty Office.

This procedure is free to use and is designed to provide a quick resolution to any dispute. In that case, please write (but do not enclose any original documents) with full details of your complaint to:

The Secretary of The Notaries Society
Old Church Chambers
23 Sandhill Road
St James
Northampton
NN5 5LH

secretary@thenotariessociety.org.uk
01604 758908

If you have any difficulty in making a complaint in writing, please do not hesitate to call the Notaries Society for assistance.

Legal Ombudsman

Even if you have your complaint considered under the Notaries Society Approved Complaints Procedure, you may at the end of that procedure or after a period of eight weeks from the date you first notified me that you were dissatisfied, make your complaint direct to the Legal Ombudsman (LO) if you are not happy with the result:

Legal Ombudsman
Baskerville House
Centenary Square
Broad Street
Birmingham
B1 2ND
0300 5550333
enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk
www.legalombudsman.org.uk

You must refer your matter to the LO:

– Within six months of receiving a final response to your complaint

– Either six years from the date of act/omission or three years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint (only if the act or omission took place more than six years ago). The act or omission, or when you should have reasonably known there was cause for complaint, must have been after 5th October 2010.
