Alexandra Davies

Family and Childcare Solicitor

Alex’s interest in family and childcare law was first sparked during her childhood when her parents careers were closely involved with individuals under Local Authority care. During that time, Alex was exposed to all aspects of the Local Authority’s involvement within a child’s life and this provided her with an unique perspective. Alex pursued these interests further through her legal studies culminating in a master’s degree at Swansea University, during which she wrote a detailed dissertation analysing how the United Nations Convention on the rights of a child were implemented within UK legislation. Alex then went onto begin a legal career obtaining employment as a paralegal within a childcare department where she then progressed to beginning her training contract, spending two of her four seats within childcare department showing experienced solicitors in all aspects of childcare law, representing both family members and children within ongoing public law and private law proceedings.

In her role, Alex provides advice and assistance to parents and family members where there is Local Authority involvement, including circumstances where there is application to have a child or children removed from their parent or guardian or where there are concerns of a non-accidental injury occurring. This includes but is not limited to the representation of individuals at Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC), Pre-Proceedings meetings and during Court Proceedings.

She also has good experience of dealing with Child Arrangements Orders, Special Guardianship Orders and Non-Molestation Orders/Injunctions.

Alex loves that with her job she is involved in helping her client’s family lives going through quite often upsetting and distressing times.

Alex always strives to give a personal service and is a very reliable individual. She is empathic and discreet, important qualities to have during difficult times for families. Alex prides herself on giving concise and understandable information and advice to her clients, as communication and clarity is very important when dealing with serious matters. You can always expect Alex to provide the most thorough service and she will always be willing to represent your views and wishes wherever possible.

Alex is thrilled to be qualified after many years of hard work and study and is eager to have long and successful career in law.

Outside the office, Alex loves to go on long walks with her partner and her dog, taking in the countryside. She is an amateur photographer and is always looking for opportunities to take pictures. She loves the arts and is passionate about theatre and cinema.

Excellent Law Firm. Handled our conveyancing excellently. We had a separate purchase and sale. These were both handled in an extremely professional and timely manner. Jane Ball and Gurpreet were very responsive and able keep the other side's solicitor on track.

My girlfriend and I are first time buyers so we’ve never had to deal with solicitors before, so when people tell us that buying a house is stressful and dealing with solicitors can be a pain, this obviously worried me about the process. However, Askews Legal LLP or more importantly Lauren D’Arcy have proved everyone wrong. Lauren was a pleasure to work with and she made the process so incredibly smooth. She’s professional and was always there to back our case with any issues that happened. I think every solicitor should come to Lauren for advice because she knew exactly what she was doing and ensured we got perfect best in class service. I will recommend Askews, and more specifically Lauren, to any family member or friend and bet £2 million that they’ll have the smoothest house purchase process. Thank you Lauren.

My husband and I have recently made our Trust Wills with the guidance of a lovely lady, Stephanie Napier. Stephanie is an Associate Solicitor and Head of Private Client. We cannot recommend her highly enough,. Stephanie was very easy going and pleasant to talk to, everything was explained thoroughly and any queries we had she answered. We felt totally at ease with her, something that i can imagine can be quite daunting for some people. Thanks again Stephanie for all you helpDella and Steve

This is the second time we used Askews and I must say, they are the most responsive and reliable solicitors I have ever used (and we have tried a few).Lauren D'Arcy looked after our account and she was absolutely incredible! Completely on it, nothing was too much trouble, very fast at responding to our questions and overall a lovely, lovely person. She is an absolute asset to the company and we are so grateful for all her work that led to swift completion of our sale. We will be using Askews again in the future. Thank you once again Lauren, you are brilliant!

Just used Askews for a recent house sale. All went smoothly, got back quickly if I had any questions. Personally I found it difficult filling the forms in online as I had to use my phone as I haven’t got a lap top. Apart from that all good
