Conveyancing Paralegal

Job Purpose:

Would you like to work with a forward thinking, ambitious, technologically advanced, full-service law firm? Askews Legal LLP is a Lexcel accredited, Legal 500 recognised modern law firm based in Coventry. Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking four residential conveyancing Paralegals to join our established team based in Coventry. We offer a friendly, supportive working environment, with hybrid flexible working available.

Your main role is to support and assist the Partners, Department Heads and fee earners with all aspects of their work. You will already have at least 2 years’ experience of:
  • Managing a small case load of client files including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and re-mortgages
  • Taking instructions from clients and preparing detailed attendance notes
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and supporting title documentation
  • Initiating and reviewing searches
  • Dealing with pre-contract enquiries
  • Drafting of documents, letters and reports
  • Preparing and updating completion statements
  • Processing exchange of contracts and post completion documentation
  • Preparing and submitting SDLT forms
  • Recording time and working towards individual, department and Firm billing targets
  • Communicating effectively and confidently with clients, external solicitors, estate agents, lenders and other third parties
  • Administrative duties, including taking phone calls, answering routine correspondence, conducting file reviews, diary management, archiving and filing
  • Occasional networking and business development activities and assisting with the growth and development of the department
  • Supervising junior members of staff where appropriate
  • Meeting deadlines and ensuring the highest standard of client care and Lexcel compliance
  • Understanding and adhering to the CQS Protocol and CML Handbook.

If you’re looking for a role that will unlock new opportunities and offer career progression, then look no further. For candidates with a qualifying law degree and LPC and a minimum of two-three years’ experience in residential conveyancing, a training contract can be considered after successful completion of a six month probation period, subject to having achieved the required standard of performance. For candidates with a minimum of two-three years’ experience in residential conveyancing considering the licensed conveyancer or Cilex route, we will consider sponsoring this qualification after successful completion of a six month probation period and subject to them having achieved the required standard.
